It started with trying to write some code to draw interactive sketches. I give it a source image and interact with the program to create a number of variations before selecting one and building the rest of the image. I’ve long been interested in a creative process using chance and selection – this in a sense describes/links street photography and Dawkins weasel.
[Two family deaths and a cold somewhat killed my creative momentum for the last couple of weeks. Trying to ease myself back into it this early morning, before work, routine. To sleep instead is so highly tempting but this is better for my mind.]
So I’ve been thinking about how to make more use of this site. There have been fewer posts over last few years as the day job became more draining and rather than stop creating the artwork I gave up on the effort to share it.
So what to do with the site. Well I never really explain much about the pieces so I may create come posts to do so (but not today). I’m obsessive about developing process but leave diagrams alone in notebooks (well, they are all variation of the same anyway).
The backlog of stuff I never got around to posting needs to be posted. Here’s a handful of fairly old pieces. No linking theme. Photos were taken while walking around Bristol and Bath on my weekends.
